The Advanced Mentorship
The Mentorship
The advanced mentorship program is designed to help you improve your animation skills to a level suitable for feature films, with a particular emphasis on acting. It is assumed that you already have a solid understanding of workflow and techniques, so we will not be teaching you the basics of animation. However, we will provide you with more advanced tips and tricks through your critiques.
The primary focus of the mentorship is to critique your performance and acting choices in order to help you achieve the quality of feature film animation. We will provide in-depth reviews and feature-level feedback on your work to help you achieve a higher level of believability in your animation. This is what studios look for when reviewing reels during the hiring process.
The Enrollment
Our animation school and mentorship program operate differently from others in that we do not have any set terms. We run a drop-in model, which means that we are always ready to start when you are ready. You can start your mentorship at any time, as long as there is space available.
Since students start at different times, space becomes available quickly. Therefore, you should never have to wait more than a couple of weeks before starting your mentorship with us.
The Logistics
Your class and mentor will be meeting with you on Zoom. You can access the Zoom link for the meeting in your class Slack Channel.
All classes will be recorded and shared with you, giving you access not only to your own class recordings but also to recordings from all other mentors.
Additionally, the rigs you will be using can be found in the shared folder.
During the mentorship sessions, each student will have 30 minutes of dedicated review time. For example, if 5 people sign up, the review will last 2.5 hours (30 minutes per student). If it is only 1 student it would be 30 minutes. ( 30 minutes is not a hard cut-off, sometimes it may be more, and sometimes it could be less if there is not much change in your shot from the week before. )
